INCLUSION ON THE REGATTA COURSE

"To me, sailing represents freedom. Being able to convey this feeling to those who usually experience constraints on their individual freedom, is a matter very close to my heart."

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

the project

Project ‚INCLUSION ON THE REGATTA COURSE' started in January 2021 as a first joint venture between „FC St.Pauli Sailing Club“ and the „Norddeutscher Regatta Verein Sailing Club“ ("NRV") with the ambitious goal to introduce blind, visually impaired and sighted individuals as well as hard of hearing and hearing individuals to the regatta course of the Kieler Woche with a J70.

team spirit

The team is set to enter the upcoming season with their own boat,  and together with patron Sanni Beucke, now strives to serve as an inspiration for others. Given her comprehensive sailing expertise, Olympic silver medalist sailor Sanni Beucke is glad to contribute by adding notable value to her peers.

the mission

"Sharing my love for sailing with others, is a dream come true to me.

To me, sailing represents freedom. Being able to convey this feeling to those who usually experience physical constraints on their individual freedom,  would be an even greater project for me to take on. In sailing, the opportunity to do sports together while meeting at eye level at the same time, is unique. That's why I'm honored of being involved in the NRV's inclusion sailing project and being able to actively participate as a patron."
